Hi guys! This morning we had a quick breakfast at the hotel. They had a nice assortment of pastries, fruit, meats, and cheeses (pretty standard for hotels in Europe). We then walked down a whole bunch of stairs to a port to get a ferry to Capri. The ferry was extremely rocky, and left us feeling very unsettled.

Eight of us had rented a boat for three hours with a skipper. I was pretty nervous about it because of how nauseous I felt after the ferry. The water was very rough. It was one of the most unreal experiences of my life. I felt like I needed to pinch myself. The water was beautiful and the cliffs and arches were incredible. I didn’t get too many pictures because I was really trying to enjoy the moment. We anchored for about 30min and I jumped in the sea. The water was so refreshing, but very salty. My blisters were stinging when I got out. We were then just chilling there for a bit, and I started to feel very sea sick. I can’t even describe how rocky the boat was. You don’t get waves like that on the lakes in Michigan. We continued and I started to feel a bit better. However once I was feeling better three of my friends were not doing so hot and couldn’t really enjoy the rest of the boat. If you ever take a boat out take motion medicine before! Also if you are ever in Capri I 100% recommend renting one of these boats. It was only $25 for each of us and the skipper showed us all of the cool spots.
After the boat ride we wanted to explore the island a little bit. We had a very confusing time figuring out the buses and I couldn’t even tell you where we got dropped off at. I really wanted to get some seafood when on the coast so I made sure that happened. I got some calamari and shrimp. We then just walked around looking at the stores. Capri is really cute because there are so many little streets leading every which way with flowers everywhere. Don’t go there expecting to do a lot of shopping unless you have a very high budget. Most the stores are designer and I’m sure it costs a pretty penny to stay on the island. I would have loved to look around more, but we had to get back to the port to take a ferry back to Sorrento. (yay for more sea sickness) We were all so exhausted when we got back to the hotel.
We had another sketchy dinner, but at least it was in good company. After Tom took whoever wanted to go to a popular gelato place. I guess it is the gelato that was served at the recent royal wedding so that is pretty cool. It was amazing. We walked around town for a bit, but most stores close pretty early so there wasn’t much to see. I wish we could have been in Sorrento for a day. I would love to go there and explore more of the amalfi coast. I really want to go to Positano. After gelato and walking around we went to the rooftop to hangout and talk for a bit. It wasn’t long before we were struggling to keep our eyes open, and headed to bed. Tomorrow we have another long day, but we are very used to the go-go-go by now.
