Another very early day today, but that is everyday. I haven’t slept in since Michigan. Yesterday everyone was talking about how great the girls lounge was so my friend, Charlotte, and I decided to get there early and have some breakfast. It is about a 30minute walk from our hotel because our hotel is about 15minutes from the conference. It is located in the pent house of the Martinez hotel. They have small talks outside, portraits, nails, makeup, hair. It is very cool. I was going to see Rebecca Minkoff speak about building her own brand, but neither of us wanted to leave the girls lounge so I decided to watch it later online.

We had lots of coffee, got our nails done, our portraits taken, and saw a few talks. We then headed to the beach to get some food, and hang out for a bit. We then went to a loreal talk on how they are using ecommerce. I learned a lot in the talk.

After we went to a “Never Finished” talk with the founder of “me too” and the head of levis who was an Olympian gymnast. she wrote a book about how gymnasts are abused. Of course Michigan State was brought up. Always getting that bad PR. After the talks it was back to the girls lounge for more talks. When we walked in Tyler Perry was finishing up. I heard that the Parkland survivors were going to speak, and I wanted to hear them. We listened to a talk on being a working mom. Listening to the parkland survivors was extremely emotional. I was fighting tears the whole time, and had goosebumps. These high schoolers are so intelligent and wise for their age. They spoke about the moment the shooter was in the school, loosing their best friends, and the organizations they’ve created. It’s extremely difficult for them to keep speaking because they have to relive it every time, and they do get really emotional about it. They continue to speak for those who can’t and so their future kids don’t have to go through this. At the end there was a very powerful moment when we all held hands and sang. After they spoke I was emotional because I was so upset and angry that this happened to them, and that it continues to happen and that change is not being made to prevent this more. Their safe haven was destroyed and children should not live in fear of school.

When taking pictures of the sunset we noticed a really put together couple. Only to realize it was Akon again (we saw him at steak and shake Tuesday). We are actually children and started staring and freaked out. Once we realized what freaks we were being we went inside to chill. It just so happened that his manager started talking to us, and asked if we wanted to meet him. He introduced us as super fans which is embarrassing, but whatever it’s Akon.

Immediately after meeting him we left for google beach in search for food. There wasn’t any, and we were starving so we went to steak and shake again. We tried to go back to the beach after dinner, but it was closed. After these days of non-stop I am exhausted so we went back to the hotel to get sleep.
